The 4-member alternative pop band Plaster Cast caught our attention with their new single "Control" and its visually pleasing clip that encapsulates the band's myriad of influences. The record opens up with a somber piano riff underpinned by warm lo-fi textures and crisp Balearic guitars. The track slowly builds up alongside Cameron Wilson's airy vocal runs, as he details his emotional pains and the difficulty of vulnerability. His vocals exude melancholic energy, and he delivers his lines in an almost passive way with a lorn feel to them. The record is also bolstered by Michaela Lusteg's looming harmonies that help add soulful padding underneath the track and gives it an other-wordly oomph. It's a bit hard to classify the track as it weaves through a handful of genres with its experimental pop aesthetic, lo-fi sensibilities, and retro-house grooves.

The visuals are quite expressive and make use of several motifs and abstract set pieces from moody scenes, to the use of the famous Study Girl character (from the lo-fi girl Youtube channel). The transitions are seamless and the performance shots are well crafted to fit the progression of the visual, with both singers occupying their individual spaces.

"Control" is the lead single taken from Plaster Cast's forthcoming EP of the same name. It is set for an August 12th release
