At Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on Monday it was all about the sex appeal - lots of skin, a hint of bondage and cut-out designs.

Tuesday is shaping up to be a whole different story, with models given rather unattractive make-unders for two morning shows - Haryono Setiadi and One Fell Swoop.

For the latter, the brief given to hair and make-up teams appeared to be 'ugly', with models' hair plastered to their head in an extreme take on the slicked wet-look trend.

Greasy is the new black: One Fell Swoop sent models down the runway sporting slick, wet-look hair and extreme smoky look eyes

Contrast: The unusual beauty look was at odds with the beautiful clothing in the collection, which featured draped dresses in flowing, liquid-like fabrics

With the middle parting, and straggly tendrils of limp hair framing the face, the look was more greasy-haired school boy than glamorous model.

The lank hair was teamed with smoky eye shadow that covered the brow bone and was taken below the eye to create a sunken, tired appearance.

The unattractive hair and make-up was at odds with the beautiful creations presented by One Fell Swoop design duo Nina Ergic and Dan Romanin, who showed beautiful draped dresses in flowing, liquid-like fabrics.

Sci-fi: The hair brief for Haryono Setiadi's presentation appeared to be futuristic, with slick ponytails and comb-over pieces

Another unusual beauty look on the runway on Tuesday was Haryono Setiadi's unusual hairstyles.

The hair team, headed up by celebrity hair stylist Renya Xydis, created complicated futuristic hair do's, which involved slicked ponytails featuring blunt comb-over pieces.

'The overall concept and inspiration for the Haryono Setiadi hair style was to create a look that had a real origami feel,' Xydis told Daily Mail Australia. 'Using Wella Professionals Sculpt Force Gel, we incorporated really sleek and super glossy hair textures to compliment the collection. To complete the look, we added hair extensions to the low pony tails which were offset by a unique fringe.'

Again, the sharp and  super contemporary style contrasted with the clothes on parade, which included pastel blue and white, with slouchy wide-legged trousers and deep V-neck blouses and strapless dresses that skimmed the body.

Ethereal: The sci-fi hair and beauty contrasted with the pretty pastels on show

Day three of MBFWA certainly was a departure from Monday, where sexy skin and strong silhouettes ruled the runway.

Several big name designers presented their latest collections on day two, with Tome, Bec & Bridge, Aje and Macgraw all putting on stand out collections.

While Tuesday morning's presentations were getting under way with unique sci-fi inspired hair and make-up at Haryono Setiadi, Bec & Bridge were responsible for much of the buzz from the Monday, which saw them debut their highly-anticipated SWIM line.

The rest of the Seventies-inspired collection was full of bohemian maxi skirts and dresses with flimsy fabrics and a Moroccan influence.

Tome kicked off proceedings with the morning show. It was the first time the New York-based design partners Ryan Lobo and Ramon Martin have presented their wares in their native Australia.
