Tinte Cellars donation drive for Ukraine enters final week – Great Northwest Wine

Teresa Spellman Gamble, her husband, Tim, and their customers at Tinte Cellars are doing more than sending thoughts and prayers to people of war-ravaged Ukraine.

Their month-long campaign is nearing its deadline — Sunday, April 24 — as they rally to gather new supplies and raise funds on behalf of the Ukrainian Association of Washington State and International Ministry of Charity Emmanuel.

Considering they have contributed more than $735,000 to various nonprofits across the state of Washington since the launch of Tinte Cellars in 2018, the Gambles and their supporters will be providing some needed assistance and comfort to Ukrainian citizens, refugees and those defending their country against Russia. #StandWithUkraine

“During the ongoing humanitarian crisis, the Tinte community has banded together to support the people of Ukraine via our donation drives,” Teresa Spellman Gamble said in a news release. “Our staff, wine club members and guests have responded with kindness and generosity since the inception, and we want to continue the spirit of giving and spreading hope and assistance to those in need.”

Donations of new, unopened essential items such as non-perishable food, medical supplies, personal items and sleeping bags can be left at any of the three Tinte Cellars tasting rooms — the Hollywood Hills District of Woodinville, the Woodinville Warehouse District or in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood along Airport Way South.

Items will be shipped to the Red Cross and the Ministry of Health in Ukraine, and those agencies will distribute the supplies.

Tinte Cellars refers to its campaign on social media with the phrase, “In these dark times, you can be a light for others.”

Despite spending their past three years of winery ownership dealing with the pandemic, the Gambles have found critical acclaim for their wines and acquired two vineyards on Red Mountain.

The Gambles became winery owners in 2018 when they purchased Woodinville brands William Church and Cuillin Hills. They retained William Church winemaker Noah Fox Reed, a product of Walla Walla Community College’s renowned wine program, and created Tinte Cellars. Their Red Mountain vines are being managed by respected viticulturist Andrew Schultz of Brothers in Farms.

Those living beyond Woodinville or Seattle can support the Tinte Cellars Ukrainian relief effort in other ways.

Supplies can be purchased on this Amazon shopping list, and Tinte Cellars will deliver these donations to the UAWS warehouse on your behalf.

Online donations can be made to the Ukrainian Association of Washington State and the International Ministry of Charity Emmanuel.

Supporters must donate only new, unopened items. Even gently used items will be rejected because they cannot be shipped and delivered properly.

Donations needed are listed in order of importance: Non-perishable food items in original packaging with expiration April 1, 2023 or later Baby formula – expiration April 1, 2023 or later Diapers Gauze roll dressing  Elastic bandage rolls (such as ACE wrapping) Cohesive bandage rolls  Shampoo, conditioner, body soap  Pads, tampons  Toothbrushes, toothpaste – expiration April 1, 2023 or later Deodorant Adult diapers  Underwear – adult and youth Socks – adult and youth Sleeping bags
